Boat trips to discover the Gulf of Orosei

The best way to explore the Gulf of Orosei and dive into its turquoise waters is by joining an excursion on one of the many boats departing daily from the ports of Arbatax, Santa Maria Navarrese, or Cala Gonone.

Stretching for 40 km along the Ogliastra coast, this breathtaking area features imposing limestone cliffs towering over pristine coves, often accessible only by sea. Nestled between the Gennargentu mountains and the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Gulf of Orosei is truly one of the last natural paradises.

The easiest way to reach these hidden coves is by boat, otherwise, you’ll have to embark on hours of trekking. You’ll be spoiled for choice: rent a dinghy, join a motorboat tour with regular stops at Cala Luna and other scenic spots, or enjoy the journey on a comfortable yacht.

Sailing along the coastline, you’ll admire Cala Goloritzè with its 150-meter-high pinnacle, and make extended stops at the most famous beaches: Cala Luna, Cala Mariolu, and Cala Biriola. To enrich your experience, you can also visit the Bue Marino Cave.

Departure times vary depending on the port of embarkation, generally between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
